STC Chosen as a Finalist for Transformation Trophy At “The Procurement Leaders Award 2015”

Saudi Telecom Company (STC) announced today that it has been selected amongst the finalists competing to win the Transformation Trophy at the ninth Procurement Leaders Awards, for its New Horizon project, which has enabled the company to reach a “world-class” procurement system.

A global event, The Procurement Leaders Awards recognize the innovation and dedication of companies and individuals in the field of procurement. Procurement Leaders, the global procurement intelligence network that grants the award, describes STC’s-New Horizon project, as the most successful corporate initiative of 2015 to enhance the procurement function.

An independent judging panel, including senior procurement executives from leading international companies like Kellogg’s and MasterCard, scrutinise all entries before selecting the winner. STC was chosen over a host of other global multi-nationals such as Intel Corp, Bombardier, and Nike.

Chief operating officer, Dr. Khaled Al-Biyari confirmed that “this achievement places STC on a global playing field, and proves our commitment to having international standards of procurement. STC will continue to expand and innovate well into the future, backed by our prudent strategy and guided by our vision to be a leading global player in ICT. Importantly, STC will always work tirelessly to maintain customer trust and add value to its communities.”

The Saudi telecommunication giant is preparing to attend this international event on May 28 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. The ceremony will be attended by over 900 procurement industry leaders from around the world.
