A secret code, or a PIN number, resembles an entrance to a mobile’s SIM card. It consists of 4 characters which, when entered, allow the customer to use the SIM.
A user can try to enter the number up to 3 times, and if all attempts fail, the SIM is automatically locked. In this case, the user can only unlock the SIM by entering a longer 8-digit number known as the PUK.
However, sometimes customers lose or forget the PUK number and are obliged to replace the SIM and pay extra charges. This is why STC now provides the perfect solution: “My services” webpage users can now easily find out their PUK or PIN number.
All a customer has to do is register and log into the website, go to the “My services” page and chose “Display SIM details” from the menu to see all the mobile numbers registered under his name. Upon choosing a specific number, he will be able to see the PUK 1, PUK 2, PIN 1, and PIN 2 to unlock the SIM card whether he’s in the Kingdom or roaming. This way, there’s no need for SIM replacement and extra charges are completely avoided.
