This service relies on GPS technology and is designed to enable the vehicle owner to track the movement of his vehicle, using a special device installed onboard to grant him complete peace of mind. The service provides a number of benefits such as location finding, safety zones monitoring, and speed-limit alarms.
Service Features
Location finding
The owner can keep track of his vehicle via the satellite GPS system installed in the service’s special device. The service offers a high degree of accuracy up to less than 10 meters.
Vehicle Tracking
The owner can know the whereabouts of his vehicle anytime of the day through the tracking website www.avl.com.sa. He is also able to check the vehicle’s movement over the previous 30 days.
The location finding data can be viewed through any of the following:
1- Digital Maps
2- Google Earth
3- Send a free SMS to “5553” to access the service control menu, then follow the instructions of location finding through SMS.
Speed Limit Alarm
The owner receives a free SMS indicating that the vehicle has exceeded the speed limit which he has preset.
Safety Zones
These can be programmed for the vehicle, so that the owner receives a free SMS whenever the vehicle leaves or enters the specified zone.
Routine Maintenance Alarms
The owner can preset 3 warning alarms by the Vehicle Tracking Service for routine maintenance purposes. The vehicle owner receives a free SMS to indicate maintenance due dates as preset by him.
Service Activation
The service can be activated by either:
1- SMS: a blank SMS from the customer’s mobile to 5553 to get the main menu, or
2- Service website www.avl.com.sa : enter “Settings” , click “Device Settings”, choose “Name of Vehicle” and click “Activation” to activate the customer account. Complete the remaining information starting with “Customer Information” then “Vehicle Information” and finally the “Driver Information”.
