FAQ:

 

  • Can the service be provided to non IP VPN customers?
    No, MRS is only provided for IP-VPN circuits whatever are the access technology used in STC's extensive access network (e.g. fiber, xDSL, WiMAX, SkyIP).
  • How can a customer get MRS?
    By contacting his account manager.
  • Why should a customer get MRS? What are the expected benefits?
    Subscribing to this service will enable customers to focus on their core business instead of being occupied with telecom issues outside his domain.
  • Does the customer need to fire all his IT engineers when getting MRS?
    MRS needs IT/engineers to work professionally. What STC does is handle the problems the engineers are working on and let them focus on more professional and engineering work.
  • Why is a telephone line required to be connected to the dialup modem with the router?
    For out of band management. If the circuit is down the CFNOC will call the router using the dialup connection/model to access the router.
  • In which cities MRS is offered?
    MRS can be offered anywhere in KSA where there is IP VPN coverage. A Remote Site Visit fee of 650SR is charged for customer locations 100km outside the city center of  Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Hail, Tabuk, Medina, and Abha for technician visits.
  • What is the contract period?
    1 or 3 years contract.
  • Should an MRS proposal be signed before getting the service?
    Yes, an MRS proposal tailored to the customer requirements needs to be signed before MRS can be provided.
  • Why should there be a contract signed before the service is provided?
    Since MRS is one of the managed services provided to EBU customers, thus it needs a set contract timeframe to achieve the full value for the customer.
  • What are the MRS prices?
    Please contact your account manager to receive a proposal.
  • The customer already has the routers. Can he use MRS?
    Yes for Cisco routers. STC will charge him for the monitoring and management and the maintenance and warranty of the hardware (like a support contract).
  • The customer does not want to use MRS for all sites, can he use MRS for some of his sites?
    Yes. The customer can choose any number of sites.
